Master LEE Moon-Ho
Master Lee Moon-Ho, born on May 16, 1946, in Seoul, is a living legend in the world of martial arts, particularly in Taekwondo. His fascination with this martial art began at the age of 12 and deepened when he discovered Tang Soo Do, the predecessor of Taekwondo. His remarkable journey as a practitioner, trainer, and teacher testifies to a life dedicated to mastering and passing on this art.
A holder of the rare 9th dan rank, Master Lee Moon-Ho is internationally recognized for his skills and achievements. He successfully led the national teams of Korea and France, bringing his expertise and passion for Taekwondo to the international stage. In 1971, he began teaching in Seoul before settling in France, where he founded several dojangs, training generations of students who continue to propagate his teachings.
Master Lee Moon-Ho is known for revolutionizing Taekwondo with his innovative movement techniques. His fighting style, initially met with astonishment, has become a reference in modern Taekwondo. He introduced steps, dodges, and combinations, emphasizing a combat style based on mobility, speed, and precision. This approach has profoundly influenced the practice of Taekwondo as well as other martial arts disciplines.
He is also credited with inventing the technique of Pande Dolyeu Tchagui, the spinning back kick, which later became known as momdolyo chagi, a spectacular but risky technique that requires great self-confidence and perfect mastery. This technique is now a fundamental element in the practice of Taekwondo, reflecting the audacity and innovation of Master Lee Moon-Ho.
In summary, Master Lee Moon-Ho is a pioneer who shaped modern Taekwondo and left an indelible mark on the martial arts world. His legacy continues through his students, and his technical innovations, from which Saengjonsul draws its essence, have left a lasting impression on martial arts history.
